All classes will be held at the Durango Arts Center building at 802
East 2nd. Avenue. All classes have limited enrollment and also require
a minimum number of students to occur. All classes are subject to cancellation
due to insufficient registration and some classes may fill before the
registration deadlines, so, EARLY REGISTRATION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
No refunds will be issued for classes after the registration deadline
or for missed classes or absences.
Where
the ART Is!
All classes will be held in the teaching studios of the Durango Arts

have a limited maximum enrollment and are subject to cancellation if

Build-a-Class! at The Paint Bar
Do you have a group of friends that you’d like to take an arts class with? All we need to know is who, what and when? With a minimum of 6 students, the DAC will schedule a class of your choosing at a time that’s convenient for you! This can be a class for ages pre-school through high school. Walk-in and do art! Paint and create with an inspiring selection of activities, ideas for projects, seasonal celebrations, guidance and clean up!
Hourly rate per art-maker is $8.00 and includes all materials.

Wednesday “Wee Ones”
Preschool Paint at the Paint Bar
11:00 to 12 Noon
Walk-in and paint with your favorite “wee” one or just have fun watching them get creative. Have colorful conversations with other parents and you don’t have to clean up!
Hourly rate per art-making child and parent $10
Supermud! at The Paint Bar
A super fun class where Kid’s explore clay in their own unique way. What it feels like, and what it can do. Push it, build with it, pound it, smooth it. What shape can it make? Students will be introduced to glazing and hand-building techniques such as rolling coils and balls, creating textures and slabs. Take a turn on the potter’s wheel.

Gingerbread House Workshop at the Paint Bar
“Run, run as fast as you can!” to this fun and festive workshop at
at the Durango Arts Center’s Paint Bar. A fun place to meet and create in the spirit of the season. Come make a beautiful winter house with sweets and treats.
Pre- registrations Required: Deadline Nov. 1st.

Paper Mache Critters
Ages 8-12
You’ll be amazed by what you can create with paper and paste! Come prepared with pictures and/or photos of animals you like – anything from dogs and cats to dragons and mythical beasts. Learn to build an armature and then add paper and paste to create form. Have fun with colorful paint and decorative details to bring out your creature’s personality.

Smooth white paper, containers brimming with colorful
tempera paints, palettes for mixing any other hues your heart desires
and quality brushes are waiting for you at "The Paint Bar".
It's the Durango Arts Center fun new activity that takes place in our
funky Garage Art Studio behind the DAC building. Enjoy painting with
your family and friends or drop off your young artist while you stroll
downtown for awhile. All ages are welcome!

Durango Performing Arts Camp

The Durango Performing Arts Camp offers aspiring young performers a
week-long opportunity for deep creative exploration and enrichment.
The camp program is designed to help transform, develop and inspire
students ages 12 to 18 in various areas of the theater arts. Students
can concentrate on one specialty: dance, voice or acting, or select
the “triple threat” track which combines all three. Our
staff and faculty of professional performers and directors are committed
to the innovation and advancement of the talent and unique qualities
of each student. Together we share a reverence for craft and a passion
for teaching which are the powerful and motivating forces behind this
