Our mission is to provide visual and performing arts experiences for teachers and students, K through 12, in the Durango area.


After School Program
Professional artists and educators teaching elementary students theater, dance, movement, music, and a wide variety of visual arts. Classes in all 7 elementary schools one day per week all year. Find a class and sign up!

The Durango Arts Force formed in 1991 with a grant from the Arts Education Equity Network. The three-year grant was funded through the National Endowment for the Arts and the Colorado Council on the Arts. The Colorado Department of Education and the Colorado Alliance for Arts Education also assisted. Funders have included the Colorado Council on the Arts, the City of Durango, the Durango Friends of the Arts, Tile Art of Durango, Coca Cola, R. Michael Bell & Associates and individual donors.
